Stopping Anti-TNF Therapy Presurgery Cut Infection Risk

BARCELONA — The risk of serious postoperative infection is reduced by more than 60% in patients with rheumatoid arthritis undergoing anti-tumor necrosis factor-α therapy if they stop their drug 4 weeks before surgery, Will G. Dixon, Ph.D., said at the annual European Congress of Rheumatology.
